Basic Information About Social Anxiety Disorder

Socially anxious people are usually excessively concerned with being judged, rejected or negatively evaluated by others. In most cases, this leads to anxiety long before a social event and to avoidance of the feared situations.

Social anxiety disorder usually comes along with anticipatory anxiety (anxiety already ahead of the feared event), avoidance of the feared situations, as well as post-event processing (excessive worrying about past social situations).
